About The Position

The Institutional Business Development job is responsible for new client development and retention within the Institutional marketplace. Under limited supervision, the focus of this job is to provide direct sales to sophisticated institutional buyers who understand complex Investment products. This job will have responsibility for representing all investments solutions (public and private fixed income, public and private equity, real estate, and real assets) to these plan sponsors and their field consultants. The Vice President P&C Distribution job handles new client development and retention within the U.S. Property & Casualty insurance space. The focus of this job is to provide direct sales to sophisticated P&C insurers who understand complex Investment products. This job has responsibility for representing all investments solutions (public and private fixed income, public and private equity, real estate, and real assets) to P&C insurers in the U.S.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in investment management/business development, consulting/consultant relationship management and/or client service within the Insurance or Institutional segments.
  • FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 required or must be obtained within three months from date of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • 510 years of experience in investment management/business development, consulting/consultant relationship management and/or client service within the Insurance or Institutional segments.
  • Demonstrated success in independently and/or supporting the development of relationships which have led to closed sales and a pipeline of leads.
  • Strong preference for candidate to be based in New York, Chicago or Charlotte, NC.
  • BA/BA degree required, MBA a plus; CFA a plus.
  • Requires a comprehensive understanding of the features, design, and benefits of all Nuveen products, services and capital markets, as well as competitor's products, services and strategies.
  • Able to communicate and clarify complex features and P&C insurance regulations.
  • Must be able to efficiently and effectively manage your own travel schedule. (requires 50% of travel).
  • Must be a selfstarter.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes an effective sales calling/correspondence campaign to qualified leads.
  • Conducts a needs analysis and provides potential solutions to sophisticated institutional buyers.
  • Oversees onboarding process of new clients.
  • Calls upon all resources of the firm (people and technology) to provide valuable solutions to strengthen relationships.
  • Understands key competitors and positions the firm's products effectively relative to those competitors.
  • Crosssells the firm's products to existing clients where appropriate.
  • Exceeds client service expectations through proactive ongoing communication.
  • Works alongside the P&C Distribution team lead to deliver investment solutions and insights to the P&C insurance market.
  • Executes a business plan and develops pipeline for engaging P&C insurance companies.
  • Conducts needs analysis, educates insurers on strategies and markets, and provides potential solutions to sophisticated insurers.
  • Understands the U.S. P&C capital and regulatory regimes and works with internal Nuveen stakeholders to maximize probability of success within the P&C market across asset classes.
  • Attends industry conferences.
  • Assists in covering strategic client relationships and crossselling the firm's capabilities, where appropriate.
  • Provide bestinclass distribution and client experience.

Benefits

  • Base Pay Range: $116,300/yr. - $205,000/yr.
