About The Position

Nuuly is looking for a Buying Operations Supervisor that will support the Manager of Buying Operations, Assistant Buyers and Associate Buyers in the daily operational functions of all apparel categories at Nuuly Rent. The Buying Operations Supervisor will be responsible for managing issuing, revising, and tracking purchase orders at the department level. In this role you will develop cross-functional relationships with buyers, internal partners, and market vendors. Exceptional organization and communication skills, attention to detail, with the ability to filter and prioritize feedback and requests are keys to success in this role.

Requirements

  • Understanding or interest in retail, e-commerce backend operations and logistics, and/or merchandising
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to organize information and manage multiple projects
  • Ability to work efficiently on a deadline
  • Eager to learn new skills and systems, ability to prioritize and maintain a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently with a sense of urgency while supporting company goals and objectives.

  • Requires basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets

Responsibilities

  • Accurately enter and manage purchase orders in Island Pacific
  • Execute PO revisions in a timely manner.
  • Ensure timely delivery of merchandise through consistent communication, tracking and follow-up with the vendors, production, DC and buying team
  • Alert buyers to any costing or timing ramifications coming from purchase order changes
  • Accurately enters price changes and ticket requests.
  • Manage end of week PO pushouts and close POs with straggling units
  • Answer all emails promptly and in an organized fashion
  • Act as liaison between the vendor and the buyer; responsible for all vendor follow-up regarding tracking and deliveries.
  • Exhibits strong vendor communication skills and enforces vendor compliance rules; partners with buyer, vendor compliance and necessary other stakeholders to make exceptions when necessary.
  • Maintain positive, professional communication in emails and interpersonally, respond clearly and in a timely manner to emails, can prioritize emails and communicate what can or cannot be done and when it can be expected.
  • Attend Monday Business Review and monthly Open to Buy meetings, participating and providing insight and perspective where relevant.
  • Identify challenges, problems or opportunities and assist in creating solutions within Buying Operations
  • Exhibit a high sense of urgency and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Maintain a positive, collaborative relationship with the Buying and Planning teams toward common goals for the merchandise area
  • Acts as the Point person for DC questions regarding orders (out of tolerance, late orders, priorities, supplemental PO requests, product marking, and inventory issues).
  • Strong time management: ensure deadlines are met, allow room for error/changes.
  • Exhibit strong analytical and math skills and display an understanding of how multiple systems interact.
  • Maintain a strong work ethic, motivation/ team work- is proactive with issues and coming up with a solution through collaboration, brings new ideas/ solutions to the table.
  • Seek out/ take advantage of opportunities to understand other areas of business, build relationships and have a better understanding of the big picture.
