By assisting in completion of job assignments that can be done without an advanced credential (Registered Dietitian), this role supports the dietitians and helps operations run smoothly.

Requirements

  • At least two years of experience in nutrition or dietetic services.
  • Experience with electronic medical record.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Office Suite Products.
  • ServSafe certification within six months of hire/transfer.
  • Bachelor’s degree is Nutrition or Dietetics, or Master’s degree in Nutrition or Dietetics if undergraduate degree is not nutrition specific.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Clinical Nutrition Manager with recipe development, nutrient analysis and validation for patient recipes and menus.
  • Performs quality assurance functions: patient rounding, test trays, other QAPI projects as assigned.
  • Under the direction of a registered dietitian, provides patient education as determined by the RD.
  • Manages and reviews the nutrition organizer, daily triage tracking and other Cerner reports; assigns RD consults when appropriate and not automatically assigned by Cerner.
  • Teaches, develops and updates department in-service education.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Assists with department leadership coverage as needed.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and services appropriate to the population served on the assigned unit or work area.
