We are seeking an experienced Nutritional Services Manager (RD) with a minimum of 5 years of experience to lead our Nutritional Services team with the collective goal of providing exceptional care to our residents. Registered Dietitian (RD) certification required. We are not a nursing home or typical senior living center. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in dietetics or home economics from an accredited college or university.
  • Up-to-date registration and certification with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • Any current state-sanctioned regulatory Food and Alcoholic Beverage Licenses that are required in order to work within the food, beverage, and/or health services environment.
  • ServSafe certification or pursuit of the certification once beginning employment.
  • Thorough knowledge of dietary management, menu planning, and diet therapy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the Nutritional Services Department is operating at the highest level possible by continually developing, mentoring, and holding each member the Nutritional Services team accountable in accordance with their job descriptions, your sense of ownership, striving for excellence, and your expectations/vision as the leader of the department, while adhering to and ensuring adherence to all established Dining Services policies and procedures.

  • Ensure all members of the Nutritional Services leadership team are providing continuous ongoing training and guidance to all Nutritional Services frontline team members.
  • Attend all resident and team meetings and/or events requiring your presence
  • Be knowledgeable of emergency procedures and act in a calm manner in the event of an emergency.| Ensure all newly hired and transitioned Nutritional Services team members are trained in accordance with a consistent and effective training process/program.
  • Ensure that all dining services procedures and practices meet all standards and guidelines specified in the Corporate Policy/Procedure Manual, Diet Manual, and by federal/state/local regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure that all fixtures and equipment throughout health center serveries and dining rooms are cleaned regularly, maintained, and in good repair.
  • Ensure that all standardized food safety and sanitation best practices are in place at all times, including but not limited to the utilization/accuracy of proper food storage, rotation, labeling, and dating, federally regulated temperature and sanitation logs, and productions logs.
  • Ensure that local, state, and federal regulations are followed through the maintenance of records and reports.
  • Maintain optimal results on all corporate assessments and surveys, including resident satisfaction surveys, team member surveys, and/or TA VP of Culinary site visit assessments, quality assurance assessment, and mock surveys. Respond to areas requiring correction in a timely and impactful manner.
  • Maintain optimal results regarding all regulatory audits, including state and federal surveys and county health inspections. Respond to areas requiring correction in a timely and impactful manner.
  • Maintain your leadership presence with your team and in any areas of the health center where food is prepared and/or served, throughout as many meal periods as possible.
  • Provide progressive performance management that includes timely team member appraisals, training, coaching, mentoring, and counseling, and support team members so they can be held accountable for abiding by all standardized practices, expectations, policies, and procedures set forth by you, your community.
  • Regularly review medical records, complete assessments, and interview the residents, family members, and/or nursing team members in order to provide residents an optimal level of nutritional care.
  • Schedule and maintain proper Nutritional Services staffing levels needed to successfully sustain daily operations, as prescribed by your vision and expectations.
  • Through collaboration with the Human Resources Department, maintain workforce planning objectives by following company standardized hiring practices.
  • Work collaboratively with the Dining Services Director to prepare annual budget for Dining Services. Adhere to the annual operations budget.
  • Work collaboratively with the Health Services Administrator to ensure all health center residents are provided with the highest level of service possible.
  • Work to continually analyze and engage all members of the Nutritional Services team for both strengths and improvement opportunities regarding mindset, task, and competency related skills and abilities. Ensure those on the team are well suited to the team and their role.
  • Perform thorough monthly food safety/sanitation inspections of all kitchens where food is prepared (to include both non-state-regulated and state-regulated kitchens throughout the community) in accordance with PRS food safety/sanitation standardized practices and expectations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
