About the position
The Nutritional Consultant Sr is responsible for providing consultations for the most complex nutrition/dietary cases. This position will work Monday through Friday on rotating shifts between the operational hours from 9:00 am - 8:00 pm, EST. Although this position is virtual, the ideal candidate will live within a 50-mile radius and a 1-hour commute to our Elevance Health major office (PulsePoint). Elevance Health supports a hybrid workplace model with PulsePoint sites used for collaboration, community, and connection.
Responsibilities
- Ensures patient understanding of nutritional goals and objectives; provides nutritional counseling and patient education for patients diagnosed with chronic conditions.
- Motivates patients to make changes or enhancements to their current nutritional plan.
- Collaborates with physicians or other health professionals to ensure adherence to prescribed plan of care.
- Develops training modules for nurse consultants providing care management services for participants.
- Incorporates nutritional information as part of managed care benefits.
- Researches new resources and provides education to team members.
- Consults with multidisciplinary team regarding complex cases.
- Serves as departmental liaison to other areas or as representative on enterprise initiatives.
- Serves as a resource to lower level associates and provides process and/or system guidance.
Requirements
- Requires a current valid active and unrestricted RD license.
- Requires a HS diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years of managed care experience or experience counseling individuals regarding nutritional/dietary management issues related to chronic disease; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
- For associates working within Puerto Rico who are member or patient facing either in a clinical setting or in the Best Transportation unit, a current PR health certificate and a current PR Law 300 certificate are required for this position.
