Ambulatory Health Care Services

This internship offers hands-on experience under the supervision of a Registered Dietitian, assisting with patient-related tasks, meal planning, and nutrition education. Interns will contribute to research, community outreach, and food service operations.

  • Collect patient nutrition data
  • Perform dietary data analysis
  • Coordinate literature reviews
  • Support food service logistics
  • Collect and analyze data from clinical documentation, coding, and reimbursement processes, then synthesize the findings into professional PowerPoint presentations
  • Manage daily inventory and ordering of nutritional supplements and formulas
  • Collect and report patient satisfaction survey data
  • Must meet one of the following requirements: current CNA EMT or Paramedic certification, or must take Parkviews Patient Care Foundations course at time of hire
  • 2 years experience in a healthcare-related field; training time will be determined based on experience
  • Currently enrolled in nursing school having completed first clinical rotations
  • If hired prior to 12/3/18, two (2) years military medical experience will be accepted
  • Must have current CPR at or above the Healthcare Provider level from the American Heart Association or obtain within 60 days of hire
  • CNA/EMT/Paramedic certification preferred or must have the equivalent of health care experience and education
  • Two (2) years previous experience in a nursing support role OR a nursing student currently enrolled in an accredited program (ASN or BSN) having completed their first clinical rotation on an extended care or inpatient nursing unit (nursing school transcripts required)
  • Acceptable accrediting agencies are Commission on Collegiate Education in Nursing (CCNE) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)
  • If assigned to the Parkview Randallia Family Birthing Center, must be bonded as a notary public within 6 months of hire
  • Previous experience is preferred in direct patient care through work and/or school program
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have a working knowledge of computer skills and applications
  • Demonstrates ability to critically think
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and assist with 100 pounds
  • Preferred degree program or area of study is Dietetics
  • Strong communication, analytical abilities, organizational skills, and teamwork are essential for success in this internship
