About The Position

The position involves various kitchen duties including the preparation and assembly of a range of entrees such as hamburgers, subs, sandwiches, wraps, bagel lunches, salads, and veggie plates. The employee will also be responsible for preparing and assembling pizzas and other items as assigned by the Nutrition Manager. All food items prepared for sale to students must adhere to exact specifications, recipes, or directives from the Manager or Director of Nutrition Services. The role requires the use of kitchen equipment including a buffalo chopper, shredder, food processor, deli slicer, knives, convection and conventional ovens, steamers, kettles, and cooktops. The employee must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. Cleaning duties include washing pots, pans, utensils, and other cooking equipment, as well as maintaining cleanliness at workstations and ensuring compliance with HACCP standards. Additionally, the employee will assist in wiping down cafeteria tables in the dining area. Other responsibilities include stocking a la carte items and serving lunches in the proper portions as instructed by the Manager or Director of Nutrition Services. All food handlers must follow proper food safety guidelines (ServSafe). Employees are expected to work scheduled hours, arrive on time in uniform, and not work overtime without prior approval from the Manager or Director of Nutrition Services. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Perform cleaning duties including washing pots, pans, utensils, and cooking equipment.
