This position is responsible for completing the duties necessary for providing lunch service to seniors and other eligible participants and creating a clean and orderly dining area. SCHEDULE Location: Elkhorn Days: Monday - Friday Work Hours: 10:00 am - 1:00 pm Hours Per Shift: 3 Shifts Per Pay Period: 10 Position FTE: 0.38 Applications are currently being accepted from current County employees as well as members of the public. This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions: it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.

  • Sanitize and set tables and chairs prior to program start.
  • Sanitize tables and chairs and put away in designated area after participants have departed.
  • Check food to ensure the proper temperature and quantity.
  • Serve food following specific meal portioning guidelines.
  • Greet participants, answer the phone, make reservations, and verify participant attendance.
  • Provide direction to volunteers on food prep, service and clean up.
  • Assist participants with carrying trays, cutting up meat, opening milk cartons, etc.
  • Report subsequent day's meal count and report shortages as directed.
  • Ensure that program supplies and forms are kept stocked and accessible.
  • Compile all daily and monthly paperwork.
  • Complete regular deposit of participant donations at designated bank.
  • Complete congregate meal site assessment forms each year.
  • Attend scheduled meetings (i.e. monthly site manager meeting, nutrition advisory council)
  • Demonstrate a commitment to county safety and risk management efforts.
  • High school diploma or equivalent competencies, and zero to six months of relevant prior experience.
  • Proven basic arithmetic skills with ability to count and look-up numbered items, or sort times in numerical order.
  • Knowledge of basic computer programming, including communication via email.
  • Responds to the requests of others for basic and general information.
  • Food Safety & Sanitation license - training provided by Walworth County. If not held at time of hire, candidate will be required to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proof of minimum liability auto insurance.
