About The Position

Reports to Warehouse Supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS: Able to work independently with limited direct supervision. Effective organization skills; demonstrated by the ability to prioritize and organize daily work schedules. Demonstrated leadership skills. Ability to speak, read, and understand the English language. Experience in the use of computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook). Physically able to operate a 4,000-pound fork truck and battery-operated pallet jack. Demonstrate good math skills; be able to work with inventory quickly and accurately. Knowledge of operation and maintenance of equipment. Hold a valid Texas Drivers License (Class B - COL) with an acceptable driving record as established by the district. District employees will be given preference. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 260 days SALARY/PAYGRADE: NS-7 $23.25 Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assist the Supervisor in the receipt of all shipments, process receiving, discrepancy, and damage reports as needed. Move inventory to various locations manually by operating mechanical equipment, including forklift, pallet jack, and handcart. Load and unload the delivery truck by hand or with a pallet jack. Perform warehousing and maintain an accurate inventory of all equipment, supplies, and materials. Maintain computerized inventory records. Participate in semi-annual wall-to-wall and monthly items inventories. Participate in equipment movement, storage, and disposal. Supervise and document the performance of employees assigned to the warehouse. Provide continual training, motivation, and direction to employees. Responsible for the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse and dock areas. Ensure that all equipment, facility, and personal sanitation procedures are followed. The Food Handler's certification must be current and updated as required. Monitor and enforce the safety standards of the department, administer training programs, and report all accidents. Project a professional image in appearance and personal conduct. Utilize a positive, professional, proactive, and innovative approach to work. Enforce all District and Department Policies and Procedures. Support the Nutrition Services Department with regular and reliable attendance. Occasional overtime is necessary. Perform other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor, Warehouse Manager, Assistant Director of Nutrition Services, Logistics, or Nutrition Services Director. Applications will be reviewed.
