A Day in the Life of a Nutrition Services Utility: Works as a team member of Food & Nutrition Services (FNS). Responsible for food preparation, sanitation, inventory control, transportation, and other duties as assigned. Works closely with other members of food service staff, clinical nutrition staff and nursing staff. Prepares an adequate amount of food for assigned meal service. Ensures preps are completed, and leftovers are used correctly. Organizes and serves food on tray lines, when finished clears line, labels, dates and properly stores all food items and cleans work area. Performs all styles of cooking positions as needed or assigned. Maintains a clean and sanitary work environment at all times. Follows quality control guidelines for preparation and service of food. Provides inventory control. Checks, receives, and stores supplies properly as assigned. Monitors and documents refrigeration and food temperatures. Provides transportation services as needed and drives in a safe and professional manner. Performs basic vehicle maintenance and cleaning. Documents and reports safety concerns and repair needs. Submits a monthly vehicle inspection report/log with receipts to FNS leadership.
