Requirements

  • Basic food preparation and food safety knowledge.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Six months of food service experience or training.
  • ServSafe Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, assemble, and deliver salads, desserts, beverages, snacks, and meal items.
  • Use portion control and dietary guidelines to dish up cold food items for patients, residents, and patrons.
  • Accurately serve patient trays on the tray line, adding condiments, silverware, and napkins per dietary orders.
  • Deliver and retrieve patient meals and supplies, and assist with catering functions.
  • Disassemble returned trays wearing protective gear and sanitize all dishes, glasses, trays, and utensils using proper procedures.
  • Operate dish machines safely and accurately record rinse cycle temperatures.
  • Clean and sanitize pots and pans using triple sink methods, including logging pH levels.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen tools and spaces.
  • Provide warm, efficient service to cafeteria patrons, handling cash and receipts per policy.
  • Serve food items to patrons during regular hours and after-hours via Cuisine On-Call.
  • Maintain a clean, well-stocked cafeteria during and after operating hours.
  • Coordinate with the Dietary Supervisor, Dietitians, and other departments for meal needs, supply requests, and patient care support.
  • Provide courteous, helpful service to other departments and adjust to patients' and patrons' food service needs.
  • Keep work areas tidy, clean equipment after use, and store items properly.
  • Accurately record cleaning duties completed and submit to Lead Cook.
  • Uphold Logan Health's Compliance Plan and Code of Conduct.
  • Understand and follow healthcare regulations related to patient care, confidentiality, and food safety.
  • Report any concerns regarding safety or compliance through proper channels.
