About The Position

The Nutrition Services Assistant Rover is responsible for preparing nutritious meals for students and staff in a safe and sanitary kitchen environment. This role involves maintaining excellent customer relations and developing positive relationships with co-workers, students, staff, parents, and patrons. Unlike a standard Nutrition Services Assistant, the Rover is not assigned to a single school location and instead reports to various locations as needed, ensuring flexibility and adaptability in service delivery.

Requirements

• 0 - 2 years food service experience preferred.
• Basic math, writing, and communication skills.
• Operating knowledge of oven, steamer, mixer, slicer, dishwasher, and computer preferred at hire.
• Ability to promote and follow Board of Education Coherent Governance Policies and District Policies.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Successful completion of Basic Food Safety Class within six months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a school food service environment.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing food for the National School Lunch Program.
• Stock and price inventory in milk and drink coolers and other storage areas.
• Sanitize all dishes, equipment, floors, tables, sinks, etc., after daily meal service.
• Wash tables in the commons area after each meal to ensure sanitary eating areas.
• Remove all trash and waste from the kitchen and serving areas.
• Utilize computers for point of sale and district communication.
• Complete all food service tasks as directed by the Kitchen Manager.
• Perform opening and closing kitchen preparations including cleaning, storage, and stocking of inventory.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Benefits

• Hourly pay rate starting at $16.82+ based on experience.
