The position involves transporting food and supplies from the Nutrition Services Main Production Area to various patient service areas throughout the hospital. The role includes participating in patient meal assembly and delivering meals directly to patients in a professional and efficient manner. Additionally, the employee will be responsible for inventorying and stocking unit-based pantries, maintaining accurate records of pantry stock items, and following established procedures for cleaning, labeling, rotating, and documenting pantry stock items. The position also requires washing dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans, both manually and using automated machines, and ensuring that clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment are stored properly. The employee will gather trash from the Nutrition Production area, clean garbage cans, sweep floors, and perform both heavy and light cleaning of Nutrition Production equipment, food service production, and retail cafeteria areas. Reporting any safety hazards or malfunctioning equipment to the Shift Supervisor is also part of the job. The employee will assist in basic production duties, cafeteria food serving, and cleaning, while adhering to HACCP and ISDH sanitation standards and participating in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities. All activities must comply with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and Johnson Memorial Health policies and procedures, including Blood and Body Substance Precautions.
