About The Position

We are currently pursuing a kind and committed part-time Nutrition Services Worker to join our Pole Creek Estates Long-Term Care team. At Pole Creek Estates, our residents are our number one priority. Requirements

  • Prefer 1-3 months of related experience.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing and serving food and in the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen facilities.
  • Clean and sanitize dishes, pots, and pans, and maintain cleanliness of department.
  • Prepare resident trays according to diet ordered and cook’s directions.
  • Employ proper food handling techniques in preparation of food and setting up/serving trays.
  • Deliver food, nourishments, and supplies to nursing units or other areas as assigned.
  • Stock and maintain supplies in the dish room, service kitchen, and memory care.
  • Transport food on a hot covered plate system to memory care and resident rooms.
  • Collect food trays and dirty dishes and cart them back to the kitchen for washing.
  • Mop and sweep floors in the dish room and service kitchen.
  • Assist with putting freight away.
  • Assist residents with room trays by getting food ready to eat, including opening containers, getting items from the pantry, and ensuring that all necessary items are present on the tray.
  • Notify supervisor or maintenance if equipment is not running correctly or is down.
  • Maintain a pleasant and courteous disposition at all times while working at a rapid pace, focusing on the resident and the task at hand while staying within the time constraints.
  • Resolve resident concerns and relay relevant information to supervisor.
  • Develop an understanding of the products served and the different recipes.
  • Consistent awareness of working around hot steam, hot cooking items, and hot beverages.
  • Follow the Nebraska Food Safety program guidelines.
  • Follow HIPAA regulations and ensure that the confidentiality of residents’ medical, personal, financial records, employee records, and organizational records are maintained.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
