About The Position

The position supervises assembly, preparation, and service provided by Food Services Attendant to patients, employees, and visitors. The role is responsible for both process improvement and quality control. Daily communication with coworkers and other team members is essential to ensure that food is served in a safe and attractive manner, resulting in high customer satisfaction regarding taste, temperature, and presentation.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Nutrition, Hotel, Restaurant, Institution Management, Business or related field or equivalent combination of education/training/experience.
  • ServeSafe Certifications within 6 months of hire date.
  • Three years of food service experience.
  • Knowledge of normal and therapeutic nutrition.
  • Understanding of HACCP regulations.
  • Familiarity with most recent USDA Food Code guidelines.
  • Ability to work with people from a variety of backgrounds with different skill levels.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, patients, and customers.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and ensure associate safety related to exposure and OSHA guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and maintains department according to departmental and hospital policies and bargaining unit agreement.
  • Evaluates, counsels, and disciplines employees in accordance with hospital policies and bargaining unit agreement.
  • Responsible for employee training and development, overseeing and/or providing proper training to establish competency of employees.
  • Performs opening and closing responsibilities of the department.
  • Responsible for the coordination of patient meal service including diet office, tray assembly, tray delivery, and dish room functions.
  • Oversees floor stock processes and activities.
