Requirements

  • Ability to read, write and understand the English language.
  • Effective communication with patients, visitors, staff and physicians.
  • Basic math skills; ability to measure weights/volume.
  • Ability to work with a large degree of independence.
  • Professional image and dependability.
  • Ability to follow through on written and verbal instructions.

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Enhancing patient and family satisfaction by collecting and recording their food selections.
  • Assisting in ensuring that patients receive foods/meals according to their prescribed diet.
  • Working closely with Clinical Nutrition and other IDT to ensure patient's nutrition needs are being met.
  • Adhering to MercyOne's performance expectations and performing all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of MercyOne.
  • Assisting in assuring patients receive food according to prescribed diets.
  • Documenting patient intake.
  • Communicating relevant clinical observations to the patient care team.
  • Maintaining safe, clean and organized patient room and unit kitchenette.
  • Adhering to all safety, infection control and colleague health policies and procedures.
