Position Summary: The Certified Dietary Manager will plan, organize, coordinate, and evaluate the daily and fiscal Nutrition Resources Department operations. These areas include patient meal service, café dining, and physician dining. Will manage operations by working closely with the supervisors in planning, scheduling, hiring, supervising, evaluating, disciplining, and coordinating activities of the department staff. Will resolve personnel issues with appropriate mediation skills and within hospital personnel policies and guidelines. Will guide staff in a constructive manner. Requires knowledge of various food products, and quality standards as well as chemical use, and OSHA safety knowledge.

Requirements

  • Is a graduate of a dietetic services training program approved by the Dietary Managers Association and is a certified dietary manager credentialed by the Certifying Board of the Dietary Managers Association, maintains this certification, and has received at least six hours of in-service training on the specific California dietary service requirements contained in Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations prior to assuming full-time duties.
  • Requires knowledge of various food products, and quality standards as well as chemical use, and OSHA safety knowledge.
  • Requires Certified Dietary Manager and ServSafe Certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer five years in nutrition/kitchen management.
  • Prefer previous experience in budgeting, personnel management to include staffing/personnel policies/procedures, food/equipment purchasing, menu planning, chemical use, and food safety and sanitation.
  • Prefer knowledge of accreditation agency, Title 22, EPA regulations, and HFAP standards.
  • Good working knowledge of therapeutic and mechanically altered diets.
