About The Position

Under the direction of the School Adolescent & Child Health Unit Manager, this position provides leadership for the Unit’s nutrition and physical activity projects/programs. This position supports the nutrition and physical activity needs of the Whole Child Health Section within DCFW as defined by Division, Section and Unit leadership. Responsibilities include policy and program development and implementation; quality assurance, training and consultation; inter-agency and external collaboration and coordination. The position is responsible for overseeing nutrition and physical activity project(s). This involves project planning, development, implementation and evaluation as well as building and maintaining key partnerships.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in nutrition or public health nutrition from an appropriately accredited institution and holds the credential of Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD or RDN) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and three years of program administration or supervisory experience.

Nice To Haves

  • The Nutritionist needs working knowledge of theories and principles of typical and therapeutic nutrition and its relationship to growth and development of children.
  • Demonstrated experience with nutrition program planning, implementation and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing evidence-based, best & promising practices in the field of nutrition and physical activity.
  • Demonstrated experience providing consultation to child nutrition programs.
  • Experience in researching and presenting educational and training materials to professional and lay groups.
