Responsibilities

• Secure patient meal selections and special requests via telephone or face-to-face interactions.
• Follow proper telephone etiquette and procedures with patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals.
• Offer alternatives to menu items based on prescribed diets, food allergies, and cultural preferences.
• Respond to patient needs and resolve concerns or complaints promptly, reporting to supervisors as necessary.
• Comply with dietary restrictions on special diets to meet food preferences within diet order limitations.
• Interact with nursing staff to ensure accurate diet prescriptions and food needs are met for patients.
• Adhere to facility confidentiality and patient rights policies in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Comply with health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when assembling and distributing food supplies to ensure quality and safety.
• Complete daily, weekly, or monthly reports as outlined in corporate policies and procedures.
