About The Position

Get paid to make someone’s day better! Voluntary Action Center is seeking a Part-Time Meals on Wheels Driver to join our team serving the Peru, IL area. This position will work for up to 25 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. For over 20 years, VAC has been dedicated to promoting dignity, health, and independence for seniors and individuals with disabilities and our drivers are at the heart of that mission. Why This Role Matters As a Meals on Wheels Driver, you’re more than a delivery driver you are the friendly face and daily check-in our clients rely on. Your work helps reduce isolation and ensures individuals receive the nutrition and care they deserve. What You’ll Do Deliver meals to clients’ homes using a designated route Load and transport meals following established procedures Provide friendly, respectful interaction with every client Observe and report any concerns regarding client wellbeing Serve as a mandated reporter for suspected abuse or neglect Support kitchen or site operations as needed What We’re Looking For Compassionate, dependable, and service-oriented individuals Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently and manage a daily route High school diploma or GED required Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record Ability to pass a background check and physical exam Comfortable handling confidential information with discretion Benefits & Perks Paid Time Off Paid Holidays & Bereavement Leave Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Opportunities for growth and development A meaningful role where your work truly matters Physical Requirements This role requires the ability to: Lift up to 30 lbs., bend, walk, and climb stairs Work in varying weather conditions Drive for extended periods Voluntary Action Center is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
