About The Position

Responsible for the receiving, storing, and rotating food and non-food inventory for the Nutrition Services Department per department protocols and guidelines. Follows regulatory guidelines for maintaining proper food temperatures to ensure food safety throughout the receiving and storage process. Requirements

  • Valid state driver's license, if required by facility
  • Current food handler's permit
  • One or more year of experience in inventory, shipping, receiving or warehouse services preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to write accurately and legibly.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and apply procedures and instructions
  • Demonstrated ability to use a power pallet jack and all other material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Receives and verifies physical shipment with packing slips and purchase orders and notifies Culinary procurement of discrepancies.
  • Identifies damaged or missing items to expedite credits and refuses sub-standard products
  • Stocks materials in proper storage locations following FIFO and labels products according to department procedures.
  • Follows HACCP, local and state health department standards.
  • Processes outbound (shipping) supplies and equipment to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly storage and receiving area/dock.
  • Picks orders according to production needs, verifies unit of measurement, quality and correct product.
  • Ensures all delivery containers are labelled, dated and staged properly.
  • Problem solves picking issues by making adjustments and corrections to pick lists.
  • Performs data entry on materials that were disbursed and transferred.
  • Distributes food and non-food products to assigned locations, including satellite facilities.
  • Stores and uses cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
