About The Position

Performs a variety of food and guest service duties under general supervision. This position includes the following roles, which will vary by facility need: patient meal tray assembly and delivery, cashier, food assembly, food serving, and cleaning. Café Stations to train: Barista Station: Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages with precision and care. Salad/Deli Station: Create fresh and delicious salads and deli items, ensuring high-quality presentation. Pizza and Pasta Station: Craft mouth-watering pizzas and pasta dishes, maintaining consistency and taste. Grill Station: Cook and serve grilled items to perfection, adhering to safety and hygiene standards. Entrée Serving: Plate and serve main courses with attention to detail and customer preferences. Action Station: Engage with customers while preparing made-to-order dishes, showcasing your culinary skills. Cashiering: Handle transactions efficiently and accurately, providing excellent customer service. Work Schedule PRN, on call or as needed Pay Rate: Based on Experience ($17.25 - $22.43) Availability needed: Sunday-Saturday 7am-6pm for 8 hour shifts, every other weekend required Dynamic team with opportunities to cross train and support other kitchen areas for more exciting shifts!   • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
  • Frequent interactions with customers that require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
  • Remain standing for long periods of time to perform work.
  • Tolerate extremes in temperature such as performing work at a grill or in a refrigerator and tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of food service or cashier experience preferred.
  • Hospital food service experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with modified diets (preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Delivers and presents trays to patients using the standard process.
  • Performs food preparation functions according to system standards (following standard recipe, assembling ingredients) for example, prepares salads, sandwiches, vegetables, and fruit.
  • Follows standardized practices relating to Nutrition Services (e.g. dining experience, meal delivery, maintaining required stock levels)
  • Performs housekeeping functions including cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, floor care, and equipment (oven, fryer, hoods).
  • Performs accurate cash/credit transactions according to system standards and independently resolves basic customer service issues.
