Our Nutrition Services department is hospitality central for Stillwater Medical Center. Nutrition Assistants play a very important role in the organization - helping to serve patients, families, visitors and fellow employees with snacks, meals and friendly faces. Details: Full-time, 40 hours per week Open availability with both AM/PM shifts (6:00am-2:30p/10:30a-7:00p) Weekends on rotation Holidays on rotation Free meal with every shift JOB SUMMARY: The Nutrition Services Assistant performs duties related to meal services. Major duties are providing quality customer service, delivering trays into patient rooms, operating a cash register, performing cash/charge-related transactions, assisting with the preparation of menu items for room service patients, and using the dish machine to wash dishes. The assistant may need to perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Manager, or Director. QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to read and write and follow oral and written directions. Must be able to count money and make change. Able to work under stressful conditions. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to work in a latex-burdened environment. Able to lift cases of groceries and containers of food that could weigh up to 50 lbs. Able to stand for long periods of time with extensive bending and reaching. Demonstrates adequate vision, or correctable with glasses/contacts, to read and prepare documents and labels and give appropriate portion control. Must have adequate perception of sounds or adequate hearing with corrections.
