About The Position

The Nutrition Assistant assists the clinical dietitian by screening patients for nutritional risk, assisting patients with food selection, monitoring intake, providing nutrition education to patients and families. If you are selected for this position, you will be asked to supply your immunization records as proof of vaccination. If you and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines, medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree and 1-2 years experience in the following: Working with children in a school, camp or day care setting, working with the public, working with computers, working in a medical setting.
  • Prior work experience in the same job may be accepted in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

  • Identify patients at nutritional risk.
  • Calculate nutrient intakes of in-patients and out-patients receiving enteral and parenteral nutrition using the most appropriate software and maintain nutrient database specific to menus at CMH.
  • Provide nutrition care and education to patients and families.
  • Monitor need for updating menus and distribute selected menus.
  • Initiate and participate in quality improvement.
  • Provide education and/or in-service training to students, staff, professionals, and community.
  • Attends education programs, unit meetings and assigned committees.
