About The Position

ATA Services, Inc., is looking for a Nutrition Assistant for our client Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) . Please review the job details listed below!

Part‑time (up to 32 hrs/wk)
Help support Hawaii’s mothers, infants, and young children through nutrition and breastfeeding education within the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field OR completion of State‑approved WIC Competent Professional Authority (CPA) training.
• Knowledge of nutrition for pregnant/postpartum women, infants, and young children.
• Strong communication skills and cultural sensitivity.
• Basic computer proficiency; ability to type 45 wpm.

Nice To Haves

• 1–2 years working in a clinical or community setting serving maternal/child health populations.
• Ability to use HiWIC and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook).
• Effective in both one‑on‑one counseling and group education settings, including with phone‑based interpreters.

Responsibilities

• Provide nutrition assessments, counseling, and breastfeeding support to low‑risk participants.
• Create and document individualized care plans in the HiWIC system.
• Tailor WIC food packages and review eligible formula documentation.
• Refer clients to community health and social service resources.
• Maintain accurate records, complete required trainings, and follow WIC policies and procedures.
