About The Position

The Nutrition Assistant II at Northeast Valley Health Corporation is primarily responsible for providing direct client services within the Canoga Park WIC clinic. This role involves teaching nutrition education classes, promoting nutrition education, and offering lactation support. The position requires effective communication and organizational skills to serve participants in the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Must pass WIC teaching abilities interview
• Knowledge of WIC Program policies and procedures
• Working knowledge of clinic procedures
• Fluency in English (speak, read and write)
• Fluency in Spanish, Armenian, or Vietnamese (preferred)
• Computer skills in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Public speaking experience
• Effective work organization skills
• Ability to work as a team player
• Flexibility to work in a changing environment
• Sensitivity to diverse cultures
• Ability to listen and communicate professionally
• Current California driver's license and acceptable driving record
