About The Position

The Department of Business & Entrepreneurship at Onondaga Community College is currently accepting applications from qualified individuals to teach Contemporary Nutrition course on campus for the Spring 2026 semester. Contemporary Nutrition Course Description This course is an exploration of the essential nutrients and will give the student the working knowledge of the principles of nutrition. Nutrition information to include digestion, absorption, storage and metabolism of the essential nutrients, their functions, requirements, sources and how these relate to the life cycle and disease conditions. The student will study how adequate diets and weight maintenance can affect general health, diseases and food requirements for all ages from pre-natal to adult years. Current nutritional research, popular diets, diet trends, food availability, consumerism and diets of various national, global, social and economic groups are studied.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in related field with 12 graduate level credits in Nutrition. (Related fields: Hospitality, Nutrition, Liberal Arts designation, Food Service/Institutional Management) from an accredited college, university or foreign equivalency.
  • Six (6) Months work experience as a Nutritionist in a health-related facility.

  • Registered Dietitian
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish. English and other languages will be considered.
  • Able to teach during the day preferred
  • Experience using D2L or other LMS

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present lectures
  • Meet with students as needed to answer questions
  • Respond to student queries (e.g. email or voice mail) as needed, in a reasonably timely manner
  • Write, administer, and grade all student assignments and exams
  • Compute grades and submit them on time
