The Nurturing Coach engages families deemed safe by the Department of Children and Families’ Investigative Staff in the Nurturing Parent Program with services within their home and/or connects them to community resources. Understands the challenges faced by families and takes creative steps to partner with them to address these challenges. Individuals must act with a high degree of independent judgment and under minimal supervision. Kids Central Inc. serves five (5) counties within Circuit 5 which include Citrus, Hernando, Lake, Marion and Sumter counties. All staff must be able to work in any of the five counties we support and serve. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Safety/Risk Management: Enhances preventative safety programs for clients. Ensures that environment is safe and complying with industry standards. Able to implement proactive measures to identify, intervene in and manage risks that potentially impact on the safety of our environment. Exercise good judgment regarding safety related decisions. Ensure the safety of Kids Central clients, yourself, staff community and others (includes but is not limited to safe driving, safe working area, and safe living environment. Facilitation: Demonstrates skills, knowledge and practical application of strength-based practices related to community education, capacity building, networking, information sharing, and resource development to promote child, family and community well-being. Time Management Skills: Understands and demonstrates an ability to use time in an efficient and effective manner. Collaborates and communicates with co-workers to increase efficiency and enhance team time management. Is aware of and consistently meets established deadlines. Identifies and prioritizes multiple tasks to assure timely completion of projects and assigned tasks. Communicates progress regarding completion of timelines/deadlines with co-workers, supervisors, and internal and external customers. Recommend and implement strategies to enhance time management skills. Customer/Stakeholders: Strong ability to network and foster positive, trusting relations and interactions within community and within team. Recognizes, understands and develops strong external, business and community customer relationships. Participate consistently within respective communities through active participation in Alliances, events, and partnership meetings to increase awareness, enhance resources and foster community wide commitment to children and families. Treat co-workers, families and residents with respect in all situations. Service Delivery: Demonstrates the skills and knowledge to implement, develop, and manage services (education, planning, collaboration, family team conference, information and referrals, community building). Delivering services in manner which they attend to quality issues, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, outcomes, corrective actions, and the implementation of Best Practices and innovative methods of service delivery. Collaborative Leadership: Effectively practices and processes the knowledge, skills and attitudes of collaborative leadership, whether working as part of the team, working with families, or working with community residents and partners.
