About The Position

The Nursing Technician position at UW Medicine involves providing direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role is essential in ensuring continuity of care across various clinical areas, including med-surg, oncology, neurology, and more. Nursing Technicians will assist in patient mobility, hygiene, and safety, while also documenting patient data and communicating changes in condition to the supervising RN.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Washington State Board of Nursing approved Nursing Education Program.
• Completed at least one clinical rotation by the start of Orientation.
• CPR certification is required.
• Resume, one clinical evaluation, and completed school Skills Checklist are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Collect and document data during the delivery of care.
• Communicate findings and changes in patient condition to the supervising RN.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure continuity of patient care from admission to discharge.
• Transport patients, supplies, and specimens as needed.
• Order and stock supplies to maintain availability.
• Ensure patient safety through monitoring, assessment, and safe patient mobilization.

Benefits

• Evening premium - $1.50/hour
• Night premium - $2.00/hour
• Weekend premium - $1.50/hour
• Overtime pay
