About The Position

UW Medicine has outstanding opportunities for Nurse Technicians at our UW Medical Center-Montlake & UW Medical Center-Northwest locations. Clinical areas requesting Nurse Techs could include med-surg, oncology, neurology, behavioral health, surgical and ICU. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to assist in providing direct care, collect and document data gathered during the delivery of care and communicate findings and changes in patient condition to the supervising RN. Collaborate with the other disciplines as appropriate to provide continuity of patient care from admission to discharge. Perform a variety of tasks including transporting patients, supplies and specimens; ordering and stocking supplies; and ensuring patient safety through monitoring and assessment, safe patient mobilization and hygiene activities. Requirements

  • Must be currently enrollment in a Washington State Board of Nursing approved Nursing Education Program and have at least 6 months to work prior to graduation.
  • Must have completed at least one clinical rotation by the start of Orientation.
  • BLS certification, resume, one clinical evaluation, and completed school Skills Checklist are required.
  • Be available to work a minimum of 1 day per week (some units require more).
