About The Position

The Nurse Team Lead is responsible for aiding in the development and maintenance of an environment that supports all medical staff including Registered and Licensed Practical Nurses. The team lead reports directly to the Director of Nursing (DON) and coordinates with are manager and nursing staff to ensure proper training, guidance, and nursing services that maintain evidenced based standards of care. The Team Lead assists with ensuring policies, procedures, and regulations are followed. The Team Lead will promote the vision, mission, and values of the organization. Essential Functions (Job Duties) Demonstrate necessary skills and knowledge to provide care for individuals we support according to policy, procedure and division/unit specific competencies as well as assist with providing patient care, as well as oversight and support to the nursing team. Comply with Office of Mental Health (OMH), Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS), Office of Persons with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD),New York State and Federal regulations, laws and ethical guidelines. Provides formal and informal supportive physical and mental health care and maintenance education in a variety of areas to people we support as well as their family/team Administer injections and medications as directed by prescriber. Infection control duties as directed – may include policy and procedure development, maintenance, implementation, continued education, tracking and reporting. Acts as a resource in identifying, communicating and/or offering solutions for nursing/operational problems in partnership with CO team Statistic data collection and reporting. Assist with payroll, hiring and scheduling to ensuring nurse coverage meets budgetary and regulatory requirements. Address manager level issues related to workflow, patient care and nursing process as well as and report up to DON.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse degree with a valid New York State RN license.
