With the leadership of the Manager and the Clinical Supervisor, the Nursing Support Assistant (CNA) performs assigned supportive work in connection with the delivery of patient care, including functional tasks and skills. The role utilizes interactive processes to exceed the expectations of patients, physicians, families, or significant others, providing high quality, cost effective care and treatment. The assistant demonstrates necessary skills and knowledge to provide care for patients according to unit specific competencies as appropriate to the age of the patients served. This position performs activities which support the daily functions and operations of a patient care unit and the healthcare team, including constant observation and documentation of activity of assigned patients. The Nursing Support Assistant works under the direction of the Registered Nurse in the assigned area.
