About The Position

The Nursing Department Management position involves overseeing clinical nursing activities to ensure effective and efficient workflow within the department. The role requires quick reporting of any workflow issues to the Director of Nursing (DON) and maintaining the nurses' work schedule, including approving requests for personal time off (PTO) and sick leave according to agency policy and program coverage needs. The position also entails implementing and educating nursing staff on any developments or revisions to department standards and protocols, providing supportive guidance and direction to nursing staff as needed, and assisting the DON in enforcing compliance with JCAHO, state licensing, and out-of-state contract standards. Additionally, the role includes coordinating with the DON to develop and implement staff recruitment and retention strategies through HRD, ensuring adherence to medication administration protocols, and documenting them effectively in patient charts. The position requires taking call, including overnight and weekend shifts.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • RN licensure in Arkansas in good standing.
  • 3 years of clinical nursing experience.
  • 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Valid Arkansas driver's license with a driving record acceptable to the insurance carrier.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure medication administration protocols are adhered to and documented effectively in the chart.
  • Notify the DON of any issues regarding medication administration.
  • Take call including overnight and weekend shifts.
