Nursing Supervisor - (Housewide)
About The Position
The house supervisor is a Registered Nurse who is responsible for planning, supervising, and evaluating nursing care throughout the hospital for a defined shift. Responsible for coordination and continuous delivery of quality patient care, administrative issues, transfers, bed placement, and staffing throughout the building in conjunction with the Department Directors, Chief Nurse Officer, and Medical Staff. Has a thorough knowledge of The Joint Commission, AHCA, AOA, and the Florida Nurse Practice Act. Demonstrates service excellence, serves as a role model for high reliability and has the ability to resolve complex issues in a collaborative and positive way to ensure desired outcomes.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5 years clinical experience in acute care hospital.
- 2-3 years of progressive nursing leadership experience.
- Demonstrates effectiveness in leadership, problem solving, decision making, communication skills.
- High tolerance for stressful situations.
- Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationship skills and strong people skills.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Current RN licensure by Florida State Board of Nursing.
- BLS and ACLS (AHA) required.
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree in Nursing or other related discipline preferred.
- Certification in specialty area preferred.
