Job Responsibilities: Directs and supervises nursing personnel in accordance with department, governmental and other regulatory standards. Participates in development of departmental goals and objectives. Updates and maintains department’s nursing procedural manual. Assists in the selection, training/orientation, and performance evaluation of nursing personnel. Designs work schedules, hours and duty assignments. Ensures all areas and sites are following Joint Commission and CMS standards. Greets patients and prepares them for physician’s examination. Screens patients for appropriate information. Instructs patients in collection of samples and tests. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance within the scope of the nursing standards. Maintains and assists with the preparation of equipment and aids physicians during treatment, examination, and testing of patients. Handles telephone inquiries from patients regarding test results, medications and treatment instructions as directed by the physician. Arranges for hospitalization, referrals, or performance of special procedures for patients. Maintains a clean, attractive work area and keeps clinical areas stocked with appropriate medical supplies. Cleans and sterilizes medical instruments, surgical trays, etc. Performs other duties as assigned or requested. Education: Graduate from a school of nursing as a Registered Nurse. CPR certification required. Experience: 2-5 years of supervisory/management experience preferred. Internal applicants must call HR at ext. 11653 to determine eligibility before applying.
