About The Position

Beloit Health System is seeking a Nursing Supervisor for their team at Beloit Memorial Hospital within Nursing Administration. This role involves providing supervision and direction to the nursing team, assisting with staffing and assignments, managing patient bed placement and needs, triaging phone calls, communicating with leadership, and facilitating the acquisition of medications and supplies. The supervisor will also respond to emergency situations and support nursing staff through education.

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
  • ADN, Diploma, BSN or MSN degree acceptable. BSN or above approved.
  • State of Wisconsin or multistate nursing licensure required. (Must request WI licensure within 30 days).
  • Must be BLS certified within three months of hire.
  • ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including providers, patients and their support system, and the community.
  • Ability to critically think and triage problems.
  • Requires the ability to work independently, and to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Telemetry trained within 6 months of hire.
  • Requires excellent communication and counseling technique.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply proper procedures to Beloit Health System policies.
  • Employee possesses the training, knowledge, and skills necessary to perform the following activities (evaluation, treatment, and patient care) for patients in one or more of the following age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
  • Successful completion of pre-placement physical examination.

  • Prior supervisory experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision and direction to the nursing teams.
  • Assist with staffing and assignments, placing patients in beds on ordered units, triaging patient needs and bed placement.
  • Triage phone calls from providers, other facilities, and families.
  • Assist with obtaining medications and supplies.
  • Respond to RRTs, MEAs, and alert/codes.
  • Enter surgical cases within the EMR, calling in on-call staff for OR, US, VL/Echo, and STEMI teams as needed.
  • Provide support and education to nursing staff.
