Full time night shift (7p-7a) Nursing supervisor position. This person will work 3- 12 hours shifts per week. This is a small team that is required to have 24/7 coverage, so flexibility with schedule and good attendance is important. This is a great position for those looking to step into leadership roles. Strong inpatient, ICU, ED clinical bedside experience is preferred. Facilitates movement of patients to appropriate and alternate levels of care as needed and has the authority to facilitate the opening of transitional beds/unit in order to maximize patient throughput and ease excess capacity. This also includes patient access, transfer center and system wide coordination. Takes physician orders and completes admission assessments and other admission activities in times of unusually high activity. Maximizes patient throughput and access by working with Nursing divisions, Surgical areas and ED to adequately plan for admissions and discharges. Assures adequate staffing in all areas of the hospital and ensures that staffing changes are implemented quickly. Manages fluctuations in patient census utilizing productivity targets, staffing grids and appropriate resources. Promotes Relationship Based Care and models the UH essential behaviors during all interactions with patients, physicians and employees.
