About The Position

Alternatives, Inc. is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and highly organized Nursing Supervisor (RN) to lead and support our growing nursing department serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This is a hands-on leadership role that blends clinical excellence with team development, compliance oversight, and collaboration across programs. The Nursing Supervisor (RN) provides direct supervision, leadership, and performance oversight for the nursing team, while maintaining a reduced caseload to focus on departmental management, clinical consultation, and regulatory compliance. This role ensures quality medical services across all programs and locations and serves as a key liaison with healthcare partners and internal leadership.

Requirements

Must meet all qualifications and training requirements of Registered Nurse
Current NJ RN license
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to transport individuals per agency policy
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record

Nice To Haves

Experience working with individuals with I/DD and/or mental health needs preferred

Responsibilities

Provide direct supervision and leadership of Registered Nurses
Coordinate nursing schedules and ensure equitable workload distribution
Oversee nursing coverage across all programs and locations
Maintain departmental readiness and regulatory compliance
Conduct regular program visits
Provide advanced clinical consultation and crisis support
Lead health-related training and implementation of policies and procedures
Participate in audits, inspections, investigations, and DHS compliance activities
Serve as primary liaison with physicians, psychiatrists, consultants, and external partners
Attend IDT/ISP meetings, placement meetings, and critical appointments
Maintain reduced caseload while performing RN duties as needed
