About The Position

The nurse supervisor will be responsible for staff, management, and coordination of all activities for the scheduled working shift in accordance with established philosophy, objectives, and policies of the hospital to ensure safe, efficient, and therapeutic patient care. The House Supervisor will relate effectively with other shifts and department leaders for continuity of care and services and is the Administration representative while on shift. The House Supervisor adheres to Amberwell Health cultural competencies and principles of servant leadership in all aspects of job performance.

Requirements

• Demonstrates the skills, knowledge, and abilities of an effective leader.
• 2+ years' hospital clinical experience required.

Nice To Haves

• 5+ years' experience working in an acute care setting.
• Previous supervisor experience preferred.
• Preferred education: BSN.
• Professional certification in clinical specialty.

Responsibilities

• Manages activities, patient care, and the execution of hospital policies during the scheduled shift.
• Reviews staffing patterns, verifies attendance, and assists with staffing coverage as needed.
• Informs departmental leaders of staff activities, needs, problems, and unusual events.
• Investigates and reports complaints from patients, visitors, and employees.
• Monitors and facilitates patient flow in and out of the hospital.
• Guides and advises clinical staff with clinical instructions.
• Communicates with patients, nurses, other healthcare professionals, family members, and visitors.
