Requirements

  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Typically requires 3 years of experience in an inpatient nursing unit environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple demands simultaneously.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN.
  • Experience in Med/Surg or observation.
  • Charge nurse or governance experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising nursing, support staff and patient care activities on assigned shifts.
  • Acting as a clinical resource to unit staff members.
  • Promoting an environment conducive to the delivery of quality patient care.
  • Advocating for rights of patients and staff.
  • Promoting communication among patients, families, hospital departments, and medical staff.
  • Coordinating the needs of physicians and acting as liaison between the medical staff and the nursing staff.
  • Developing and maintaining effective intra- and inter-departmental relationships.
  • Evaluating the quality of patient care provided in the specialty area.
  • Ensuring policies and procedures are in compliance with those of the medical center.
  • Conducting ongoing process improvement in collaboration with the manager.
  • Developing department orientation and continuing education programs for all staff.
  • Providing input regarding equipment/supply needs and budget preparation.
  • Performing human resources responsibilities for staff including coaching and performance reviews.
  • Ensuring compliance with the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct.
