About The Position

Responsible for executing operations to support patient- and family-centered care through The Compass: St. Cloud Hospital's Nursing Professional Practice Model insert CentraCare's updated purpose statement. Is responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of assigned department. Provides leadership, coordination, direction and support of the department, hospital, system goals and objectives. This position role models and supports an environment conducive to positive and collaborative relationships with all internal and external customers. Abides by and promotes CentraCare's culture of Our Best Begins with Me. Responsible for the recruitment, retention and development of qualified staff. This may include screening, interviewing, and hiring, along with monitoring performance and addressing corrective action, including termination of employees. Conducts mid-year check-ins and performance appraisals for team members focusing on development opportunities. Maintains professional competencies by attending educational programs, participating in professional organizations, subscribing to and reading professional journals or other appropriate activities. Promotes development of and participation in research and evidence base practices Supports and implements patient, employee and other safe practices as appropriate. Promotes team member and patient experience efforts and role models behaviors consistent with current initiatives. Utilizes the Magnet philosophy in developing and supporting a professional practice environment fostered by shared governance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher degree in nursing.
  • 3 years Minimum of clinical experience with nursing expertise in area of specialization.
  • Progressive leadership experience.
  • Current licensure in the State of Minnesota as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Nursing specialty certification in oncology (OCN) required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required
  • Demonstrated management skills including leadership, problem solving, communication, organization, time management and goal setting.
