This position assists the Director of Nursing in establishing goals and developing systems to accomplish a 24-hour day of nursing care for the nursing care units. More specifically, the ADON supervises 4 House Supervisors, Emergency Medical Technicians, Transport HCT’s, Restorative Aides, and MDS Nurse Supervisor, Wound Care Nurse and Nurse Scheduler. Implements the Nursing Quality Improvement system, makes rounds to resident care areas in order to make observations and share information, chairs and/or is a member of various committees, and participates in multiple projects which assures efficient and effective delivery of nursing care. This position is considered mandatory, which means that employees are required to report to work during adverse weather and emergency conditions. Longleaf Neuro-Medical Treatment Center (LNMTC), located in Wilson, NC, is a state-operated certified Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF). With a staff of about 520, LNMTC provides support to approximately 200 residents with complex medical needs and/or co-existing neuro-cognitive disorders. THIS POSITION IS DESIGNATED MANDATORY AND MUST REPORT OR STAY OVER DURING ADVERSE WEATHEREVENTS OR OTHER EMERGENCIES.
