The University of Minnesota Medical Center is the flagship location for University of Minnesota Health providing breakthrough medicine and transforming the health of our community. Perianesthesia Department, three phases of care: Pre & Post has 22 beds providing care for same day surgery patients, inpatients and surgical admits Post anesthesia care unit (PACU) has 21 beds and cares for 30-50 patients/day About the Job The Nursing Station Technician is a combined position consisting of both Nursing Assistant and Health Unit Coordinator roles to deliver direct patient care and administrative duties. In this role, you will work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to demonstrate excellent customer service, teamwork and communication skills with patients, families, and the healthcare team on a fasted paced unit. Other job duties include: Patient care such as personal hygiene, vitals, daily activities, repositioning, transporting, and feeding Maintaining unit desk area functions such as answering phones, processing admissions, discharging and transferring forms, transcribing orders, assembling patient charts and ordering tests Setting up and maintaining patient rooms Ordering and stocking of supplies
