About The Position

Fairview is looking for a Nursing Station Technician at the M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN! This position is 60 hours every two weeks on the Day shift, for 12 hour shifts, and every third weekend, and is eligible for benefits such as medical, dental, and more. Then the Neuroscience Unit at Southdale Hospital may be the right fit for you! This 29 bed unit specializes in the care of stroke patients, and a variety of neurologic diagnosis. Our Stroke Program is committed to decreasing the incidence and impact of stroke, and improving the quality of life for stroke survivors and their families.

Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required
  • Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview sponsored Nursing Assistant program, or
  • Six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care or acute care setting
  • Current enrollment in an LPN, RN or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one (1) semester of clinical rotation within the program, or
  • Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the professional caregiver in the delivery of patient care
  • Transporting patient and/or equipment
  • Setting up and maintaining patient rooms
  • Reordering and stocking supplies
  • Performing a wide range of clerical, transcription, and maintenance of patient care unit desk area functions
  • Coordinating the flow of communication on a patient care unit
  • Demonstrating excellent customer service, teamwork and communication skills with patients, families, and the healthcare team
  • Patient care such as personal hygiene, vitals, daily activities, repositioning, transporting, and feeding
  • Maintaining unit desk area functions such as answering phones, processing admissions, discharging and transferring forms, transcribing orders, assembling patient charts and ordering tests
  • Performing other tasks as needed
