About The Position

Fairview is looking for a Nursing Station Technician at the M Health Fairview Northland Medical Center in Princeton, MN! This position is 64 hours every two weeks on the Day/Evening shift, for 8 hour shifts, and every other weekend, and is eligible for benefits such as medical, dental, and more. At Fairview Northland Medical Center the Med Surg unit consists of medical and surgical, pediatrics, and adult Intensive Care patients. The Med/Surg/Peds unit consists of 22 beds and the ICU has 4 beds. We have 43 nurses, 12 nursing assistants, and 1 HUC. Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required.
  • Successful completion of Fairview's OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview sponsored Nursing Assistant program.
  • Six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care or acute care setting (e.g., Nursing Assistant, PCA, Resident Assistant or Emergency Room Technician).
  • Current enrollment in an LPN, RN or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one (1) semester of clinical rotation within the program.
  • Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Work under direction of nursing personnel to deliver patient care.
  • Perform patient cares, vitals, bathing, feeding, answering call lights, transporting, and care of environment (by stocking, cleaning, and maintaining rooms).
  • Perform delegated nursing functions to assigned patients including personal care, ambulation, exercise, nutrition, specimen collection and vital signs.
  • Perform special procedures (eg: skin care) as defined by patient care unit practice guidelines.
  • Observe patients and report any changes in status to appropriate staff.
  • Communicate effectively with all members of the health care team.
  • Perform environmental and other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Accurately maintain the medical record.
  • Efficiently schedule patient tests and procedures.
  • Maintain unit communication systems and central desk area.
  • Actively participate in staff development.
