Nursing Station Technician - Float Pool
About The Position
Fairview is looking for a Nursing Station Technician at the M Health Fairview Lakes Medical Center in Wyoming, MN! This position is 56 hours every two weeks on the Day/Evening shift, for 8 hour shifts, and every other weekend, and is eligible for benefits such as medical, dental, and more. We take pride in serving our community. About this Unit: Are you seeking the opportunity to gain experience on multiple units? If so, then our Float Pool team is right for you! The Float Pool supports the Medical Surgical, ICU and Birthplace inpatient units with many opportunities for growth. The Nursing Station Technician position is responsible for assisting with patient care, performing receptionist duties on the station, and maintaining patient care areas. The NST assists in the transfer/positioning and mobility of patients, including assisting with ADLs and general patient care.
Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required. Ontrack participants much be able to obtain Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification upon completion of the OnTrack program.
- Successful completion of Fairview's OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview sponsored Nursing Assistant program.
- Six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care or acute care setting. (Appropriate roles may include, Nursing Assistant, PCA, Resident Assistant or Emergency Room Technician)
- Current enrollment in an LPN, RN or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one (1) semester of clinical rotation within the program.
- Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire. This requirement does not need to be maintained throughout employment and is not required if subsequently transferring into another Nursing Assistant or Nursing Station Tech or Nursing Station Attendant position.
