About The Position

Adjunct faculty are an integral part of the University's learning community and teach courses online and/or on main campus. The successful candidate must be committed to fostering a welcoming environment for a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff. The Catherine McAuley School of Nursing is accepting applications for On-Ground, Nursing Adjunct Faculty to staff the Simulation Lab during the Fall 2025 semester. Nursing Simulation Lab: Nursing Simulation Lab supports undergraduate nursing education at Maryville University by facilitating low-fidelity to high-fidelity simulation experiences. This role involves preparing and facilitating simulation of diverse patient scenarios. This includes lab, set up, prebrief, operating simulation technology, guided progression of simulation events, debrief, and break down of supplies and equipment. Adjunct simulation faculty play a vital role in creating a psychologically safe, learner-centered learning environment that promotes clinical reasoning, communication, teamwork, and technical skill development.

Requirements

  • Master of Science in Nursing
  • Minimum of two years' current experience in nursing
  • Current unencumbered Missouri Nursing license
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Available to teach on campus at our location in St. Louis, Missouri

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in undergraduate nursing education
  • Experience in obstetric nursing
  • Experience in nursing simulation using Laerdal and Gaumard products
  • Experience using Canvas or other relevant online course delivery platforms
  • Experience with the electronic medical record system such as DocuCare
