About The Position

Responsible for development, implementation and evaluation of nursing professional development programs including but not limited to nursing orientation, in-services and nursing continuing professional development. Functions as an educational resource and provides guidance for education as necessary, including interprofessional education (IPE). The Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Specialist also assists in the planning, development, and provision of departmental educational activities relating to nursing and oncology, providing program support to all shifts. It is preferred that NPD Specialists have Specialty Nursing Certification in Nursing Professional Development; this will be required within 2 years from date of hire. This position must adhere to the ANA Code of Ethics for Registered Nurses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing Required
  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing, other health related field or Adult Education Required
  • 3 years experience in a Clinical Setting Required
  • Basic Life Support Required
  • PA Registered Nurse License Required
  • Multi State Compact RN License Required Or

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year experience in adult education Preferred
  • BLS Instructor Status Preferred
  • Specialty Nursing Certification in Nursing Professional Development
