About The Position

Administers, develops, coordinates, implements, standardizes and evaluates education, simulation and onboarding orientation at various CentraCare Health entities related to assigned service line. Creating an environment that engages staff in ongoing learning, increasing clinical competence, professional practice, and critical thinking skills through the use of best practices at CentraCare Health entities. Partners with service line operational leaders and sites to integrate patient care across the system. Provides patient and family centered care. Age appropriate care is provided to patients and families. Supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate. Maintains professional competencies by attending educational programs, participates in professional organizations, subscribing to the reading professional journals or other appropriate activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher degree in nursing required, master's preferred
  • 5 years at a minimum of clinical experience required in applicable specialty
  • 3 years of experience in professional development, precepting, or instructing nurses
  • Proficient with technology, including Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant platforms
  • Registered Nurse (RN) Current licensure in the state of Minnesota required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Current Provider card prior to completion of orientation required
  • Certification Generic Life support certifications as applicable to assigned service line within 6 months from hire
  • Demonstrated good judgment and critical thinking skills when handling a variety of procedural and technical tasks with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision is required
  • A valid Minnesota driver’s license, a driving record in good standing, and the minimum amount of insurance liability coverage may be required
  • Leadership skills including the ability to problem solve, communicate clearly, provide support, self-directed and accountable, prioritizes and is organized, and shows initiative
  • Experience working with a variety of medical equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience and knowledge, principles, and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching, instruction of individuals and groups, and program evaluation preferred
  • Simulation or in-situ simulation experience preferred
  • Professional membership preferred
