About The Position

The Nursing Professional Development Specialist at Atrium Health is a Registered Nurse responsible for enhancing the professional competence and growth of nursing learners in various settings. This role supports lifelong learning and development in an interprofessional environment, contributing to optimal patient care and health promotion. The specialist serves as a Learning Facilitator, Change Agent, Mentor, and Advocate for the Nursing Professional Development specialty, focusing on onboarding, competency management, education, and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
  • Master's in nursing, nursing education, or a health-related program required.
  • Must have or complete MSN if undergraduate degree is not BSN.
  • Professional certification in Nursing Professional Development or related field required within 1 year of eligibility.
  • Two years of teaching experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and program development.

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with emphasis in education preferred.
  • Experience in curriculum and program evaluation.

  • Evaluate personal practice against professional standards and guidelines.
  • Influence structures and processes to improve health equity.
